Chalkboard Centerpieces

When black is matte, it looks sophisticated and soft -- and is a fabulous compliment to a floral arrangement. Spray paint a vase with chalkboard paint, write the table number on the front, and fill with pretty pale tulips. Volia! An inexpensive centerpiece that still looks dramatic.

Clover Ring Pillow

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, we want to feature this Clover Ring Pillow. Now yes It's too late for you to do NOW but if you're planning a 2011 March wedding, take a look at this!

How to:
  • Start with a store-bought pillow, or make your own (ours is 5 inches square). Hunt for clovers or purchase them via mail order.
  • Cut organza and linen each into a square 1/2 inch larger than the pillow's face.
  • Sew the squares together by stacking them, then stitching a cross through middle, with stitching ending 1/4 inch from the edges.
  • Fold back organza corners, and affix clovers to linen using white craft glue.
  • Let dry.
  • Fold fabrics' edges under by 1/4 inch, and press.
  • Top stitch to pillow, with care -- the clovers are fragile.
  • Tack a silk cord to the center of the pillow and tie the rings to it.

Wedding Hair to Die For

Do you remember Lauren Conrad's hairstyle at the 2008 VMAs? If not, take a peek:

Here's how to get this hair do; perfect for your wedding day!
  • STEP ONE: Part hair in the middle. Use a medium-barrel curling iron to create some defined waves. Then smooth on Warren Tricomi Finishing Cream to prevent frizz.
  • STEP TWO: Pull all the hair except the front section on either side into a messy bun. (The kind where you make a ponytail but don't pull it all the way through, not the kind where you coil hair around and put an elastic around it) Secure with a clear elastic, like Blax Snag-Free Hair Elastics.
  • STEP THREE: Use blonde bobby pins, like Scunci Classic Pins, to twist up curls from the front and pin them into the bun.
  • STEP FOUR: Secure the look with hairspray.
